Capital One - FB Mascot Challenge

Created and wrote this for Capital One owned channels for a sponsorship. It garnered insane amounts of earned media. Capital One was looking for a way to create content around NCAA events. There were a lot of brands focusing on the athletes so we decided to focus on the mascots as a unique point of differentiation. After all, every mascot was a baby once. These are the heroic stories of their rise to fame. People voted on Facebook for their favorite NCAA mascot to win the contest. CTR, Engagement rates, TOS and downloads were all higher than forecasted, as were the resulting engagement with Capital One offers and product page visits.  I made 15 films for 15 mascots but just showing two here…

The voting structure provided fans three ways to catapult their mascot to victory. By clicking "vote now," fans earn one (1) point for their mascot. To go even further in expressing their enthusiasm, fans could complete weekly 50-point and/or 100-point challenges by posting clever entries on X or FB using their mascot's hashtag.
